DIVA LA PAZ 2026 WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY, MARCH 20TH, 2026
Colonia de la Paz historically has hosted ‘Diva La Paz’ which is a large-scale campus wide event. Diva originated 27 years ago, and the tradition of the event has continued to this day. The event focuses on educational outcomes around the LGBTQIA+ and Drag Communities. The event theme and pride room topic area are determined by the RA staff each year. This event is large enough where all staff members are required to work on the event and a staff committee helps plan the event. While more information will be covered later, we will have the following work groups for this event: Logistics, Education, Decoration, & Marketing. All files related to this event will be stored in Teams to maintain historical files.
Educate students on the LGBTQIA+ community, the terminology used, the different identities individuals hold, and to show the history of the pride movement to encourage them to share their voices and become an advocate or take time to reflect on identities they hold.
We also aim to provide residents with resources and connections to campus and the Tucson community that support the LGBTQIA+ community.
Introduce residents to Tucson drag performers and provide a space for them to ask questions and learn about a community they may or may not identify with.
Marketing
The Marketing Team will work on social media, physical advertisements, and spreading awareness of Diva!
Decorations
The Decorations Team will work on executing the vision for the entire program, from the moment students walk in, up to the stage!
Logistics

The Education Team will work with CDs to educate the RA Staff on the meaning and importance of Diva, as well as executing the Pride Room.
